December

3 to 11 Dec  Weymouth Angling Society Heaviest Fish Competition, along the Dorset Coast Line. Entry fee applicable. Contact 01305 7785032

8 Dec – Christmas Sparkle – Town Centre. 3pm to 10 pm.  Christmas shopping and an entertaining evening. Stalls full of food and drink as well as lots of ideas for Christmas presents will start to open at about 3pm.  A fun packed evening of entertainment based around a stage in New Bond Street will begin at around 4pm.

The event will live up to its name with hog roast and donuts, and with stalls selling Christmas fayre and other goodies.

There will also be a children’s lantern parade for the evening around the town centre.

9 Dec Easton Christmas Promise- Easton Portland,5.30pm. Come join the Festive fun in Easton. This night is full of Christmas cheer. There will be carols, choirs, Santa’s sleigh and grotto for the kids as well as late night shopping and craft stalls. Ssshhhhh don’t forget the secret Christmas pudding competition.

11 Dec  I’m Dreaming of a Wyke Christmas – Old Wyke Square.  12 noon to 4 pm.   Craft and food stalls, entertainment, competitions, children’s rides and more.

11 Dec  Farmers market- Westham bridge, Weymouth 10 am-3pm

11 Dec Carols in the Park – Greenhill Gardens, 4 pm.

11 – Scrooge’s Christmas Fayre – Nothe Fort. 11 am-4pm.  The Spirit of Scrooge Walk, Santa’s Grotto, Children’s Craft Making, Face Painting, Carols, Mince Pies & Mulled Wine, Hot Roast Chestnuts, Please come and see the Ghost of Christmas Past, Present & Christmas Yet to Come!  Entry fee applicable.

13 Dec-2 Jan 2012 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs- Weymouth Pavilion, Come join the wonderful world of Pantomime with this years family favourite Snow white and the Seven dwarfs, this classic pantomime is a must for the whole family.  With lavish scenery, stunning costumes, audience participation, dancing, singing and ‘laugh out loud’ comedy.

18 Dec Chase the Pudding – Weymouth Beach – 11am.  Be a part of something truly special this festive season, join us for this hilarious event by chasing our Christmas Pudding along the 5km beach front route.  The winner will receive a cash prize!

25 Dec Lions Club Christmas Day Swim – Weymouth Harbour. 11am. 

31 Dec New Years Eve Revelry – Throughout the Borough. Party season isn’t over yet join thousands of fancy dress wearing revellers seeing the New Year in with style.

8 Jan Pie and a Pint- Royal Hotel and Esplanade- The men only sponsored walk in aid of Weldmar Hospicecare trust. A choice of 6K 0r 10K walk along Weymouth seafront. Upon return to the hotel walkers will be received with a warm welcome and a well-deserved pie and a pint.
