Nurdle in Weymouth

Some of you may have a rough idea what Nurdling is – for those of you who don’t – it’s a game played between two teams up an alley where the object of the game is to throw and receive your teams’ piece of wood (Nurdle) until you reach the end of the track – whilst simultaneously hindering the other teams’ nurdle.   Players use fenders (a dustbin lid…metal is best) and a grouting pole (a wooden pole with a wooden spoon or similar on the end).   This is a fairly bonkers game which has been going on for hundreds of years – it’s a good laugh and a good way to recover from a hangover and that flat New Year feeling.

Albert the Tall is the local oracle of nurdling, and who is the Sergeant (umpire) on the day.

It will start from the Ship at Upwey at 11am.  Spectators are welcome.
